What is Selank?
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analogue of tuftsin developed by the Institute of Molecular Genetics in Russia. Studied and used clinically for anxiety and stress since the 1990s, it has one of the longer human reference records of any peptide in this category.
It modulates GABA-A receptor activity and influences serotonin, dopamine, and enkephalin expression. Unlike benzodiazepines which also act on GABA-A, Selank does not cause sedation, dependence, or cognitive impairment in preclinical models.

Anxiolytic: Reduced anxiety behaviour in animal studies comparable to diazepam in some models — without sedation or motor impairment.
Enkephalin: Increases enkephalin expression and reduces breakdown — associated with mood stabilisation and stress resilience.
Cognitive: Does not impair cognition at anxiolytic doses. Some models show enhanced memory consolidation.
Immune: Derived from tuftsin, documented immunomodulatory effects including increased interferon expression in some studies.
